In 1994, she launched her album《心痛》 (Heartache), which helped propel Singapore's pop music into the region. She has since released over 40 albums in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

A trailblazer, Kit was the first pop singer to perform at Singapore’s National Day Parade in 1998, where her rendition of the theme song Home became a cherished favourite for generations.
