Ian Loy is a Singapore-based theatre-maker recognised for his work as a performer, director and creator since 1999. He graduated with distinction in Drama in 2002 and received the NAC Georgette Chen Arts Scholarship.
In 2009, he founded MySuperFuture Theatrical Productions, which creates and coaches theatre projects for people of all ages and abilities, with a focus on young audiences. His dedication to theatre for young audiences led to his appointment as associate artist at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay through PLAYtime!, where he continues to develop engaging works for children.
Ian’s achievements include the Young Artist Award (2014) for his contributions to theatre for young audiences, and a Best Director nomination at the LIFE! Theatre Awards (2016) for Grandpa Cherry Blossoms, a rare recognition for a TYA director. His practice reflects a commitment to making theatre accessible, meaningful and transformative for diverse communities.
