Boo Junfeng is a leading Singaporean filmmaker. His debut feature Sandcastle (2010), premiered at Cannes’ International Critics’ Week and screened at major festivals including Toronto, Busan and London. It won multiple awards and was named one of Asia’s notable films of 2010 by The Wall Street Journal. His second film Apprentice (2016) screened at Cannes’ Un Certain Regard.
He directed Parting for the omnibus film 7 Letters (2015), served on shortlist and final jury panels at the 60th Golden Horse Awards, and was creative director for the National Day Parade in 2018, 2021 and 2025.
Since 2005, Junfeng’s short films have earned awards at the Singapore International Film Festival, including Best Director, Best Film and Special Jury Prize. He received the Young Artist Award (2009), the Singapore Youth Award (2011) and the McNally Award for Excellence in the Arts (2009).
