Amanda Heng is one of Singapore’s most respected contemporary artists, known for her interdisciplinary practice that bridges performance, installation, photography and collaborative projects—often created with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

Her work examines the interplay of Eastern and Western values, traditions, and gender roles within Singapore’s evolving multicultural landscape. Amanda has participated in numerous residencies and projects showcased in major local and international exhibitions, including the Asia-Pacific Triennial (Australia), Havana Biennial (Cuba), Fukuoka Asian Art Triennial, Women In-Between (Japan), Werkleitz Biennale (Germany), Singapore Biennale, alongside performance art festivals in Spain, the US and Japan.

In 2011, the Singapore Art Museum presented her solo exhibition Speak To Me, Walk With Me. She will represent Singapore at the 60th Venice Biennale in 2026. Amanda received the Cultural Medallion Award in 2010 and was inducted into the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame in 2023, recognising her lasting contributions to art and society.
