Dr Aprille Chua Jia Qi

Dr Aprille Chua is a seasoned designer-researcher and education professional with over a decade of expertise. Her research centres on leveraging environmental graphic design and augmented technologies to enhance health and well-being.

Dr Chua leads two research tracks: 'Design for Health and Wellbeing' for the BA (Hons) Design Communication programme and 'System Design' for the MA Design programme. Her PhD research has been recognised by the prestigious Australian Good Design Award (2023), and was also awarded Postgraduate Research (2022) and High Achiever Award (2021) for academic excellence by the South Australian Government.

Having recently received the Emerging Scholar Award from the Common Ground Research Network, she has demonstrated her commitment to the design field through numerous international and national research grants (2020, 2021, 2022) as well as serving as an active peer reviewer for leading journals, demonstrating her dedication to research and practice in design.
