Winner of the Singapore Young Designer Award in 1997 and 1998, David is the inaugural recipient of the prestigious DesignSingapore scholarship, enabling him to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design) at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

He then spent two years as art editor at The Future Laboratory, Europe’s leading trend forecasting company, and was also the art editor for Viewpoint Magazine.

David went on to graduate top of his class with a Master of Arts (Distinction) in Graphic Design from London College of Communications and has been teaching branding and communications since.

David spends his free time working with theatre practitioners and playwrights to design for theatre, translating words to visuals and creating immersive experiences for the audience.

Research Interests
  • Branding: an archetypal approach and analysis on how brand archetype can be used to differentiate design solutions
  • Graphics: graphic designs as choice architects to research and interrogate the effects various interventions of deterrence have on its intended audience
