MA Asian Art Histories
Chin Yuqin
2025

Chin Yuqin, also known as Casey, is an artist and writer. Since undertaking her BA in Fine Art and Art History at Goldsmiths, University of London, she has exhibited art in London and Venice, as well as published writing in anthologies including Other Worlds and Good Girls Bad Ends.

She also works in art education, where her sense of wonder thrives. A deep curiosity towards Asian-centred art led her to LASALLE's MA Asian Art Histories programme.

Casey’s practice stems from a fascination with Otherness and Otherworldly life. Her thesis, Monstrous mediations: Asian contemporary art through the lens of monster theory, explored how monsters have been used in Asian contemporary art as embodiments as Otherness, particularly focusing on how artists have harnessed them to express marginalised identities and present social commentary.

Casey aspires to contribute to the cultural landscape and to never stop creating.
