Inspired by a quote from Blade Runner (1982), And the rain witnessed… speaks of the intersections of time, place, personal histories and mood in contemporary imagination.
The act of witnessing is oftentimes unspoken, and yet in the year-long research praxis of these artists, these very processes of observation proved instrumental in helping them position themselves in their ongoing quest for balance, reflexivity and fictive elements.
The title also gestures towards undercurrents of hopepunk, embracing gentleness as a form of resistance and offering counterpoints to the uncertainties we presently face.
