Chong Weixin
Weixin actively participated in various projects both on and off campus through exhibitions such as D Minor (Post Museum), Home (Esplanade’s Community Wall), Surfaces (STPI Gallery) and rtf(x) (Galeri Chandan, Kuala Lumpur). Her works have also been showcased in a solo exhibition, Re*, at LASALLE College of the Arts’ Trispace.
Weixin was appointed as co-curator for the Takeaways Exhibition (Sabancı University, Turkey) and participated in the NUS Museum’s Curating Labs: 100 Remix workshop. Her involvement in a community development project in Sikkim led to an exhibition entitled The Infinite Supply Of.
To strengthen her chosen craft of printmaking, Weixin completed internships with established printmakers Barry Cleavin and Dee Copland in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Currently a part-time research assistant at the National Art Gallery under Dr Cai Heng and a Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Fine Arts at LASALLE, Weixin is greatly encouraged to receive the McNally Award.
