Jennifer Chua

2019

Drawing has always been a part of Jennifer’s life, and she has turned her passion into a blossoming career as an award-winning animator. She first found artistic success as a student in Raffles Institution, when her illustrated storybook Eden’s Adventure of the Forgotten Fort was published under the Raffles Ecological Literacy Programme.

Jennifer’s animation credits at LASALLE include The Road Taken (2017), which won silver at the Crowbar Awards 2018 in the ‘Art Direction’ category; Beasts (2018), which was nominated at the Young Animator International Film Festival 2018; and Burgerburg (2019), which has been submitted to numerous film festivals such as SIGGRAPH Asia Computer Animation Festival 2019 and Bucheon International Animation Festival 2019. Her internship with a local animation firm, where she led the conceptual development of Kaiju Nursery, resulted in the animated series being picked up by Cartoon Network.

Jennifer believes in the power of animation as a medium to raise awareness on social and environmental issues. Talent-spotted during her final year showcase, she is currently a Senior Graphic Designer at Up To Speed, where she designs characters and develops storyboards for multinational corporations.
