Fashion Show, The LASALLE ShowReimagining fashion means to redefine, reshape and de-colonise the dominant global fashion industry by addressing today's social, environmental and cultural issues. It emphasises a holistic and empathic approach to design, production and consumption, prioritising sustainability, inclusivity and innovation. This movement embraces diversity and challenges norms, embodying values of ethical and environmentally friendly practices and employing technology to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
This year, LASALLE’s graduating cohort from the BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles programme has Re:imagine a better approach to fashion. They identified a social, cultural, or environmental issue they wanted to address, then incorporated various methods, including the use of sustainable materials, implementing innovative pattern-cutting techniques, fostering respectful collaborations, promoting recycling, exploring alternative production models, decolonising practices, emphasising thoughtful design, integrating handcraft, and embracing technology.
These graduate collections strive to create a more equitable, culturally rich and environmentally sustainable future, emphasising social responsibility, creativity, and positive social change within the industry and society.
The collections will also be on display at The LASALLE Show Exhibition 2024.
This event is part of The LASALLE Show 2024, an annual graduation showcase of contemporary arts, design and performance.
