Dr Lisa Hinz will provide an evening presentation for the LASALLE community, community-at-large, and the mental health community as part of the Artist-in-Residence series by LASALLE’s MA Art Therapy Programme.

This presentation expands the lens of art therapy theory to demonstrate how the Expressive Therapies Continuum (ETC) can function as a model for helping therapists and their clients intentionally enrich their lives to achieve optimal health. The ETC offers a way to understand how people have the ability to take in, process and share information through six equally important channels. Usually people only use a small portion of these abilities and find their lives constricted, and their self-expression stifled. This presentation will introduce easy ways to increase your awareness, open all ETC channels and enrich your life.

About the presenter:
Lisa D. Hinz, PhD, ATR-BC is a former adjunct professor in the Master's degree Art Therapy programme at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, a consultant to the Residential Lifestyle Medicine programme at Adventist Health Napa Valley and a private practitioner in art therapy. 

Dr Hinz has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is the author of Expressive Therapies Continuum: A Framework for Using Art in Therapy. She has lead and facilitated workshops and trainings on the ETC across the country and around the world, most recently in South Korea, The Netherlands and Poland. Dr Hinz is currently serving the art therapy profession as chairperson of the AATA Ethics committee.
