New! Introduction to Playwriting
Join Day Lane for a course in playwriting. She will take participants through the fundamentals of writing for the stage. You will draft and revise a short 10 to 15 minute play script while building the skills needed to analyse and critique dramatic writing.
Using a series of analysis and writing exercises, you will explore narrative structure, character and character arcs, voice, movement and body, and space and stage direction by relating learnings to your work-in-progress at each stage. The course will conclude with a series of focused workshop sessions in which you will help each other make your plays the best they can be.
