It starts with art.
To excel as an artist and be a leader in your field, it is essential to stay in touch with the world around you. Which is why at LASALLE, we offer an international curriculum that’s infused with a global consciousness.
Our students and academics have opportunities to engage with their international counterparts, based both in Singapore and in other parts of the world. The College hosts hundreds of artists-in-residence, visiting artists, specialist mentors, and researchers at both our McNally and Winstedt campuses. This creates a conducive learning environment for artists to share and exchange ideas and insights.
Our strategic partnerships with international institutions and active participation in global networks are also key to ensuring an exciting and holistic education experience for our students and staff.
Immerse yourself in a truly global arts environment.
Singapore’s reputation as a global city to do business and find the world’s best talents has set the stage for the arts to thrive. And with the country’s vision of becoming a Global Arts City, there is no better time to be in LASALLE than today.
As a leading contemporary arts institution, our programmes testify to the power of the arts to communicate across cultures and geography. They reflect our certainty that education and art enlightens both the student and the world. More importantly, they prepare our graduates for sustained and fulfilling careers in the creative industries.
What sets us apart from most arts colleges is that both visual and performing arts live and work together under one roof. Such a combination helps artists from different disciplines to get the best out of each other, leading to a creative collision that sparks innovations and inspires all who are involved.
An Innovative and Holistic Arts Education.
Goldsmiths, University of London, a partner institution of LASALLE, is renowned for having a creative and innovative approach to teaching of and research in the arts. Goldsmiths has approved LASALLE as an appropriate tertiary institution in Singapore to offer degree programmes leading to Goldsmiths’ validated awards. Notable alumni from Goldsmiths include artist-filmmaker Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave, Best Film – Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Best Film,), fine artist Damien Hirst, fashion doyenne Vivienne Westwood, and musician Damon Albarn (Britpop/rock band Blur and virtual band Gorillaz).
All degree programmes offered have been designed and developed by LASALLE to fulfil the needs of the creative industries in Singapore and Asia-Pacific. Goldsmiths puts these programmes through a process of external peer review before validating them as being worthy to lead to a Goldsmiths’ award.
“This LASALLE-Goldsmiths partnership is another step forward. Goldsmiths, University of London is one of the top universities in the world for Arts and Humanities, and LASALLE can develop its faculty and arts research capabilities through this partnership with Goldsmiths. The partnership will enhance the opportunities for our budding arts talents.”
