LASALLE Show is an annual showcase of final year works by students from the design, fine arts, film, media arts, dance, music, theatre and integrated studies' Diploma, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Masters programmes.

LASALLE presents Singapore’s premiere of the acclaimed musical NINE, featuring the final year students of BA(Hons) Musical Theatre and supported by Level 1 & 2 students. In collaboration with BA(Hons) Technical Theatre Arts students.

Based on Italian director Federico Fellini’s comic masterpiece of biographical filmmaking, 8 1/2, award-winning writers Arthur Kopit and Maury Yeston create a sultry and enchanting musical, which follows the life of world famous film director Guido Contini as he prepares his latest picture and balances the numerous women in his life. As the Italian auteur sings to his various paramours, “I wouldn’t be lonely if I could be only with you…and you…and you.” Come be seduced by the torrid lust and artistic passion of the Tony Award-winning musical NINE.

INVISIBILITY

The poignant tale of a search for meaning

This acclaimed and tender play explores alienating aspects in modern urban society.  Scenes of diverse characters on the margins of society seeking fragile connections with each other  - while another lone traveler seeks to make himself invisible.

This insightful, original and critically-acclaimed contemporary play by Quah Sy Ren takes you on a voyeuristic ride towards urban myth.

Directed by Peter Sau, and performed by LASALLE’s final year BA(Hons) Acting students.

An astute comedy about learning to accept oneself.

This work redefines the oppressed women as a 'fat-virgin', vividly illuminating and dismantling the social stereotypes of Singaporean women.

Ovidia Yu’s critically-acclaimed and popular play is also a pointed and hilarious critique: as told by four women learning to accept what they can’t change.

Directed by Noor Effendy Ibrahim, and performed by LASALLE’s final year  BA(Hons) Acting students.

Fly With Me is an evening of contemporary dance celebration in all its hues, directed by guest-artist-in-residence, Tammy L Wong. Featuring the final year students from the BA(Hons) Dance and the Diploma in Dance programmes, the production is supported by an auxiliary cast of dancers from LASALLE's School of Dance with exciting choreographies by the Faculty and international guest artistes.

The Diploma and Degree recitals from the School of Contemporary Music (SoCM) are open to the public and will showcase the final performances of the final year students in Level 2 and 3. Join SoCM and celebrate this important occasion with the students as they show their unique talents, performing their cutting edge original pop and jazz compositions alongside contemporary classical composers for piano and voice.

The LASALLE School of Contemporary Music presents CO-LAB, a concert featuring students from the final year BA(Hons) Music and BA(Hons) Music Technology programmes performing original works that boldly cross boundaries of eletronica, jazz, rock, contemporary, classical and video art.  CO-LAB is a celebration of interdisciplinary collaboration and cutting edge performance practice. The night will feature some of the most exciting composers and performers appearing in ensembles and solo works.

METAMORPHOSIS

METAMORPHOSIS is LASALLE's first-ever arts festival organised by the final year students from the Diploma in Arts Management programme. It is a series of interactive art performances, music concert and performances, a poetry installation, an arts bazaar and an arts fashion show.

SHEYPS for Peace

About Roger Crittenden

(BA-Hons in Sociology) was recruited to the National Film School (UK) as Head of Editing when it opened in 1971.  He was subsequently appointed Director of the Full-time Programme from 2001 to 2005. During his time at the NFTS he has taught in places as varied as Copenhagen, Moscow, Manila, Mexico and Cuba. In Britain he has lectured at The Royal College of Art, The Northern Film School and The Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology at Manchester University. He has also acted as a consultant to the Japanese Government regarding professional media education. He is author of two books on the craft of editing and his book on Truffaut’s ‘La Nuit Americaine’ (Day for Night) was published in the British Film Institute’s Film Classic series. His latest book is 'Fine Cuts- The Art of European Film Editing'. Roger is a member of the European Film Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
