About LASALLE’s Theatre Arts programme
Theatre Arts is a critically informed practical programme that requires students to analyse, deconstruct, interpret and create. It engages with contemporary intercultural theatre practices and 20th Century developments. It is the practical study of performance and its theories, its forms, styles and modes of interaction; and maintains a global context for the major influences that validate the diversity within contemporary theatre. These students challenge the perimeters of theatre traditions and are equipped with the tools to unlock structure and analyse the physical, aural and visual components, alongside of social, spiritual and aesthetics functions.

The programme aims to extend their knowledge and skills through applied practice-based explorations of theatre and enable successful students to make notable contributions to the development of contemporary professional practice (directing, dramaturgy, drama teaching, theatre criticism and play writing) locally and internationally.

Students who graduate from the Theatre Arts programme would be suitable for careers as Artistic Directors, Theatre Performers, Theatre Administrators and Theatre Producers.
