A Duad in Play is a stimulating collective and a compelling commentary on contemporary issues, featuring two outstanding and dynamic artistic talents Francis Ng and Ronald Ventura. Along with Artesan’s reputed motivation to showcase challenging coalitions between international and local artists, galleries, and institutions, A Duad In Play is an event that encourages a fascinating artistic solidarity between two different creative minds, allowing two artists to produce a gemini of works that will exemplify an effort of cooperative creativity.
The exhibition will present new works by two artistic giants, using a common playground to congregate their practices, challenge the boundaries, while remaining true to their works. Francis Ng and Ronald Ventura will express their thoughts on “play and playthings”, posing their artwork as a response to the other, forming a dialogue between their works, while using their own respective language of art.
A Duad in Play is co-curated by Artesan Gallery + Studio and the Institute of Contemporary Arts at the LASALLE College of the Arts. It is supported by The National Arts Council of Singapore and the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines. It also aptly concludes the series of commemorative activities celebrating forty years of diplomatic ties between Singapore and Philippines .
The Guest of Honour of the opening night is Mr Jose Camacho, Vice Chairman, Asia Pacific, Credit Suisse.
