Every button has a story to tell.
This project aims to explore the crossovers between art and the everyday ritual of dressing, the history of ownership and collection, adornment and function. It also examines the relationship we have with readymades and found objects in the process of art making, specifically in light of environmental concerns. At the same time, using an interactive approach that solicits found objects to be re-employed as an art installation, the work seeks to explore meaningful connections that may be facilitated via the contributions by various members and organisations in the society. After the exhibition, the buttons will also be donated to a co-op for other uses.
Opening Night:
Guest of Honour: Elim Chew, Founder & President, 77th Street.
