FEDERICO GARCÍA LORCA
Translation by MARY HAIRE

Based on a true story, BLOOD WEDDING, is filled with joy, grief, sensuality and passion. Written in 1932, 4 years before Lorca’s mysterious death, BLOOD WEDDING is a stinging indictment on the power of the Roman Catholic Church and the growing shadow of fascism in Spain during the early 20th Century.

Mary Haire’s beautiful translation captures the raw and poetic humanity of Lorca’s extraordinary play. This production will be performed by students of LASALLE’s Level 2 Acting & Musical Theatre programmes and supported by students from the Technical Theatre Arts programme.
