Our Faculty Staff

LASALLE’s commitment to students and to Singapore’s national goal to be a global schoolhouse is evident in the continued internationalisation and development of our teaching faculty and curricula.

“The future of our students is located in our ability to organise an international learning environment championing practice-based arts education; one, which is plugged into the dynamism of the global creative order. It is important to embrace change as a precept of the global creative order as conventional and traditional concepts of teaching and learning are fast evaporating in the face of interdisciplinarity and integration.

LASALLE has provided the faculty, students and I the opportunity to engage with, through facilitation and participation, the changing fields of cultural and educational practice. In so doing, we foster a creative partnership amongst faculty, students and the international creative community for a common global education in the creative arts. It keeps us ahead of the game.”

- Venka Purushothaman
Vice-President (Academic) & Provost

Our international staff are respected practitioners whose creative practices span the breadth of professions from designers and painters to actors, composers, dancers, directors, filmmakers, interactive artists, art historians, critics, curators, musicians, sculptors, printmakers, playwrights, singers and many more.

As a practice-based institution, LASALLE actively encourages and supports our staff in their creative practice and research activities.

Our staff have flown the flag of LASALLE at home and abroad, winning acclaim at major international exhibitions and festivals, including the Venice and Sydney Biennales, as well as lending their unique voice to the development of contemporary arts and design at forums and symposia.

Collectively they represent an international career portfolio with reputable organisations in arts and education including ZKM Centre for Art and Media, The Esplanade Co Ltd, Guildhall School of Music, Indiana University, National Arts Council of Singapore, Royal College of Art, Glasgow School of Art, ESMOD and Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
