Financial Support

LASALLE is committed to providing a quality education for all our students and to ensuring that no deserving student is denied admissions because of financial difficulty. Needy students can apply for financial support, which will be offered if they meet the eligibility criteria. Students can apply online for financial support during the stipulated application period.

Please note that miscellaneous fees are not covered by scholarships, bursaries or the Mendaki Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy (TTFS).

LASALLE Bursaries for New Students

This bursary is awarded to new Diploma students who require financial assistance for their studies at LASALLE.

Bursary recipients from the Faculty of Fine Arts are required to produce and contribute one piece of artwork each to be included as part of the Silent Auction in the Emerald Ball fundraising event each year.

Recipients from other faculties are required to commit their time and service to charity events organised by the Singapore Ireland Committee and channeled through LASALLE’s Division of Advancement.

Eligibility

  • Singapore citizens
  • Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Applicants must have been offered a place in a full-time Diploma programme for the August 2017 intake
  • Good conduct & satisfactory academic performance
  • Non-recipients of any other scholarships / bursaries / financial aid awarded by external organisations
  • Gross monthly per capita income (PCI) of S$1,500 & below
  • Bursary recipients must commit their time to at least two (2) loveLASALLE activities every academic year, one of which will be the College’s annual Convocation

Value & Tenure
Up to a maximum of S$5,000 for the first year of studies in LASALLE. 

Based on students’ financial needs & satisfactory academic performance, renewal of this bursary is reviewed on a yearly basis and covers up to a maximum of three (3) years or the minimum duration required to complete the course, whichever is shorter.  

Note : Eligible applicants will be considered for either the MOE bursary or the CDC / CCC Bursary if they have not been shortlisted for the McNally Bursary.

The loveLASALLE Education Fund is awarded to students who require financial assistance to study at LASALLE. To qualify for this bursary, students must demonstrate genuine need and hardship.

Most importantly, in keeping with the loveLASALLE mandate of connecting alumni with the College, and to promote the LASALLian spirit of camaraderie among students, bursary recipients must be committed to contribute at various activities under the loveLASALLE banner during and after their studies at LASALLE.

  • Good conduct & satisfactory academic performance
  • Gross monthly per capita income (PCI) of S$1,500 & below
  • Keen interest to particulate in voluntary work with the community and for charitable causes

The Tan Chay Bing Bursary is awarded to new Diploma students who require financial assistance for their studies at LASALLE. It is awarded to students who can demonstrate genuine need and hardship. Students with special needs are given priority.

  • Students from ASEAN* countries who have signed the Ministry of Education (MOE) Tuition Grant
  • Applicants must have been offered a place in a full-time Diploma programme for the August 2017 intake

  • Non-recipients of any other scholarships / bursaries / financial aid awarded by external organisations
  • Gross monthly per capita income (PCI) of S$1,500 & below

*ASEAN countries are Brunei Darusalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Phillippines, Thailand, Vietnam. ASEAN students applying for this bursary must be eligible for the MOE Tuition Grant and agree to sign a Tuition Grant Deed and work in a Singapore-registered company for three years after graduation.

Value & Tenure
Up to a maximum of S$5,000 for the first year of studies in LASALLE.

The BinjaiTree Bursary is awarded to students who require financial assistance to study at LASALLE. To qualify for this bursary, students must demonstrate genuine need and hardship.

Most importantly, in keeping with BinjaiTree’s mission to support worthy causes, recipients of the bursary must be committed to contribute to the society during and after their studies at LASALLE. Recipients are also required to meet the BinjaiTree representatives and to submit annual progress updates on their community work involvement.

  • Applicants must have been offered a place in a full-time Diploma programme for the August 2017 intake
  • Preference for applicants who are socially conscious and are committed to community work
  • Good conduct & satisfactory academic performance
  • Non-recipients of any other scholarships / bursaries / financial aid awarded by external organisations
  • Gross monthly per capita income (PCI) of S$1,500 & below
  • Applicants must submit a 1 page pledge detailing their commitment in community work and how they plan to do this during their time at LASALLE. Recipients are required to submit annual updates to the BinjaiTree representatives.

Up to a maximum of S$5,000 for one academic year.

Based on the criteria set by the BinjaiTree Foundation, renewal of the bursary  is reviewed on a yearly basis and covers up to a maximum of three (3) years or the minimum duration required to complete the course, whichever is shorter.

Note : Eligible applicants will be considered for either the MOE bursary or the CDC / CCC Bursary if they have not been shortlisted for the BinjaiTree Bursary.

This bursary is designed to help 1 Diploma student to meet the educational costs involved in his/her course of study at the School of Contemporary Music (SoCM). The bursary recipient is required to participate in social service activities rendered by the Singapore Lions Clubs, in particular, events promoted by the Lions Chorale.

Public Bursaries

Singapore’s Ministry of Education (MOE) offers bursaries to Singaporean students who are pursuing full-time Diploma studies at LASALLE.

Eligibility

  • Singaporean students funded by the MOE tuition grant
  • Gross monthly household income per capital income (PCI*) of S$1,900 & below
  • Non-­recipients of any other scholarships or bursaries / financial aid awarded by other organisations
  • New students must already be enrolled in the August 2016 intake before they can apply for the MOE Bursary

Value & Tenure

Diploma PCI: < S$1,400 $1,500 per academic year
  PCI: between < S$1,401 – S$1,900 S$750 per academic year

This one-year bursary offered by the Singapore Buddhist Lodge Education Foundation is open to all students pursing Diploma studies at LASALLE.

Successful applicants are required to attend a presentation ceremony at the Singapore Buddhist Lodge.

Administered by Yayasan Mendaki, the Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy (TTFS) is for Singaporean Malay students who are pursuing their first full-time Diploma or BA (Hons) studies under the MOE Tuition Grant. Those with Malay as their first component race of a double-barrelled race (ie. Malay-Indian or Malay-Chinese) are also eligible for the scheme.

The TTFS covers only tuition fees (either in full or partially). Students are liable for the balance of tuition fees (if applicable) as well as miscellaneous costs, student insurance & art materials.

The Sivadas – ­HEB (Hindu Endowment Board) Tertiary Fund provides financial assistance to Singaporean or Permanent Residents Hindu students from low-­income families who are pursuing tertiary education. More information can be found here.

 

Awarded by the Lembaga Biasiswa Kenangan Maulaud (LBKM), applications for bursaries open every June for Diploma students. More information can be found here.

 

Awarded by the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), this bursary is open to Singaporeans & Singapore Permanent Residents pursuing full-­time Diploma studies at LASALLE. More information can be found here.

Grants

As a student of the arts, you may apply for a grant from one of Singapore’s most established philanthropic organisations, The Lee Foundation. For more information and to apply, contact (+65) 6535 4055/ 6535 7355.

Among the strongest supporters of the arts, The Shaw Foundation offers grants of varying amounts to students like yourself. For more information and to apply, call (+65) 6235 2077.

Loans

The CPF Education Scheme is a loan scheme. The total amount withdrawn for tuition fees plus accrued interest has to be repaid in full with cash. Repayment will start one year after date of graduation or date of leaving the institution, whichever is earlier.

Students taking a full-time government subsidised course leading to a diploma or degree may apply for a loan from your own or your parent’s CPF savings to pay your tuition fees.

For students who are applying for the CPF Scheme, please apply online through the CPF website. The College will inform the students on the application date. For more information, visit CPF’s website or call 1800 227 1188.

As a Muslim, you may be eligible for the Loan for Fine Arts. This interest-free loan is open if you are pursuing a full-time diploma course. For more information, visit the website or call 6245 5817.

As part of the Singapore Government’s efforts to encourage every Singaporean to complete his Post- Secondary Education, the PSEA scheme is opened automatically for all eligible Singaporeans. Students can withdraw the PSEA funds by submitting the Ad Hoc Application for use of Post-Secondary Education Account Form to the Finance located at Blk E Level 2. For more information, students can contact Finance at finance@lasalle.edu.sg or visit the PSEA website and obtain a copy of the form from the Finance.
