Scholarships

In recognition of outstanding academic excellence, leadership potential, and a passion for creativity and innovation, LASALLE offers a variety of scholarships to new and current students. There are other externally sponsored scholarships which LASALLE students may apply. Enquiries and applications may be directed to the respective organisations.

Please note that miscellaneous fees are not covered by scholarships, bursaries or the Mendaki Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy (TTFS).

LASALLE scholarships for new students

The Tan Chay Bing Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship designed to attract talent, promote excellence and develop leaders in the arts and creative industries. 

Eligibility

  • Singapore citizens
  • Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Applicants must have been offered a place in a full-time BA (Hons) programme for the August 2017 intake
  • Non-recipients of any other scholarships / bursaries / financial aid awarded by external organisations

Assessment Criteria

  • Impressive academic record with portfolio/audition/interview or other criteria as may be laid down from time to time
  • Outstanding track record and/or relevant experience in chosen field
  • Demonstrates engagement in chosen field with activities outside of coursework, such as participation and/or achievements in external activities
  • High level of maturity and strong leadership qualities

Value & Tenure
Up to a maximum of S$10,000 for one academic year

The scholarship recipient must maintain good academic performance with a grade average of at least 60 for each level of study in order to be considered for subsequent years of scholarship, subject to a maximum of three (3) years or the minimum duration required to complete the course, whichever is shorter.

Application Period : 1 Feb – 17 May 2017. 
All applications must reach LASALLE by Wed, 17 May 2017, 5:00pm.  

Applications are to be submitted to LASALLE College of the Arts, Division of Student Administration, Block E Level 2, Mondays – Fridays, 9:00am – 5:00pm. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of award by end June 2017.

LASALLE scholarships for Current Students

This scholarship is open to current students at LASALLE. Scholarship recipients from the Faculty of Fine Arts are required to produce and contribute one piece of artwork each to be included as part of the Silent Auction in the Emerald Ball fundraising event each year. Recipients from other faculties are required to commit their time and service to charity events organised by the Singapore Ireland Committee and channeled through LASALLE’s Division of Advancement.

Eligibility

  • Singapore citizens
  • Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Open to current LASALLE BA (Hons) students
  • Good conduct & attendance and outstanding academic performance, with a minimum GA of 70 to be shortlisted
  • Outstanding track record and/or relevant experience in chosen field
  • Demonstrates participation and/or achievements in external activities, especially in the area of voluntary work with the community and for charitable causes
  • High level of maturity and strong leadership qualities
  • Non-recipients of any other scholarships / bursaries / financial aid awarded by external organisations

Value & Tenure

Up to a maximum of S$10,000 for one academic year

  • Current BA (Hons) students progressing to the next level of their studies in August 2016
  • Current Diploma Level 3 students who have been accepted to a BA programme commencing August 2016
  • Minimum grade average of 70 in your June 2016 results in order to be shortlisted
  • Non-recipients of any other scholarships / bursaries / financial aid awarded by external organisations

Assessment Criteria

  • Impressive academic records and portfolio/ audition/ interivews and/or other criteria as may be laid down from time to time
  • Excellent studentship
  • Outstanding performance, track record and/or relevant experience in your chosen field
  • Demonstates engagement in chosen discipline with activities outside of coursework, such as participation and/or achievements in performances/exhibitions
  • High level of maturity
  • Strong leadership qualities

Value & Tenure

The LASALLE Scholarship covers a portion of the course fees, payable by the student for one academic year.

The HBA Scholarship is a highly coveted scholarship designed to identify the most talented BA(Hons) Interior Design students who are entering their third and final year of studies in the Programme. The identified candidate must manifest excellent academic achievement, strong leadership potential and passion for the arts.

Eligibility

  • All nationalities
  • Applicants must be entering their third and final year of studies in the BA(Hons) Interior Design programme
  • Minimum grade average of 70 in your June 2016 results in order to be shortlisted
  • Non-recipients of any other scholarships / bursaries / financial aid awarded by external organisations

Assessment Criteria

  • Impressive academic record in the first and second year of studies at LASALLE
  • Outstanding track record and/or relevant experience in their chosen field
  • Demonstrates engagement in chosen field with activities outside of coursework, such as participation and/or achievements in external activities

The Veda Mekani Scholarship for Performing Arts is designed to encourage excellence and to nurture creative talents to be professional performers for the world stage through LASALLE’s Acting and Musical Theatre degrees.

  • Current BA (Hons) students from the Musial Theatre or Acting programmes
  • Non-recipients of any other scholarships / bursaries / financial aid awarded by external organisations

Assessment Criteria

  • Preference for students who are interested in using performance as a means for social change or making a difference in people’s lives

Public Scholarships

The international Helen Lansdowne Resor (HLR) Scholarship supports and promotes talented female creative advertising students from around the world in honor of the industry’s first female copywriter, Helen Lansdowne Resor. The programme will run through 2020.
